Tried And Tested Tips For Accentuating Your Facial Features

*This is a Contributed Post*

There’s something quite magical about putting on your make up and feeling good about yourself. While no one should ever feel like they need make up to be beautiful, it’s understandable that you feel more confident when you’re wearing your war paint. If you’re bored or feeling like you need a new way of doing your makeup, then it might be time to look at the way that you do your make up, rather than changing it altogether. Here are some tried and tested tips for accentuating your facial features for you to try in your makeup regime.

Don’t pile on foundation

You’ve probably at some point seen someone who has caked on way too much foundation. This is probably because they have woken up with blemishes that they want to hide away from the world. This is understandable, but caked on foundation doesn’t quite look right, and there are other solutions. Consider using a colour correcting palette on your face. This is where you will find an array of different coloured creams or powders for your face which will cover blemishes better than caking on foundation. Green for example, is great for covering red blemishes on your face. Give it a try so that your face looks flawless without looking too piled on.

Plump up those lips

One of the biggest beauty trends at the moment is beautiful plump lips. No matter what shape or size of your lips, there is always a way of accentuating them to make them look more distinct and plain beautiful. Consider lip fillers for them so that you can make the most of what you already have. The great thing about fillers is that it lasts for up to 12 months so you will have flawless lips without even trying! Add some balm or your favourite lippy and your lips will stand out!

Learn new techniques for your eye make up

Rather than sticking to your usual mascara routine, consider trying different types of eye makeup to accentuate your eyes. Learn what shape eyes you have so that you can find the right makeup and techniques to make your eyes pop. If you’re looking to try out a new mascara, check out this review of Badgal Bang mascara. It’s a great way of accentuating your eyes in a really natural way!

Use highlighter to accentuate your features

Ladies, highlighter is one of the greatest things that you can have in your makeup bag. This is because it’s a quick and efficient way of accentuating the best features of your face. Try popping some on the bridge of your nose to make it appear smaller, on your cheek bones, and also on your philtrum to really make those features stand out.

Try these four tried and tested ideas for your make up regime and you will soon notice that your best features stick out more and you immediately feel more self confident!

Loved this post! I know what you mean about the caked on look, it’s something I see all the time when I’m out and about and it looks terrible, even highlights imperfections rather than covers them. I tried lip fillers a couple of years ago and absolutely loved the results, even went back for more. I know a lot of people who disagree with it but I’ll defini be having more when I can afford it!

    Great post, enjoyed reading.
