Birthday Celebrations in London: Weekend Style

Birthday Celebrations in London: Weekend Style

It’s been a while since I’ve been in London for fun, most of my visits these days are for work. A special weekend with the besties calls for some new togs so I made the most of a 20% off code that ASOS sent me for my birthday and treated myself to some new goodies!

I wish it was a bit warmer! Not really a fan of wearing dresses with leggings (whilst tights are a big no-no for me!), but I’ve had to make do this weekend!

Saturday

I picked up this really cute Boohoo Weekend I Love You Sweater Dress which is super soft and has that hint of metallic that I love. Ideal for the journey up! It’s great that ASOS stock other brands like Boohoo, Missguided, etc, and sometimes you can pick bits up from there that you can’t on the actual website, like this. Can see me wearing this a lot for brunching and chilling on weekends. As my hair is still a wild-woman mess, I threw a baseball cap on for an easy solution to the car crash on my head.

After detouring through London, I headed to Bishop Stortford just outside of Cambridge to enjoy a bit of chill time and to meet Alice’s boyfriend. We headed for a lovely pub lunch but it was a bit drizzly so I brought a yellow waterproof mac I got cheap from Boohoo last year. They’ve just brought it back in again and they have similar ones as well – I really recommend you pick one up if you can – they’re a really way to brighten up your outfit and hide from the rain.

Sunday

After a pretty casual Saturday, we headed off into London for birthday surprises. I love London street style and wanted to embrace some cool trends, so opted for a funky T-shirt Dress with Gingham Frill Detail. Really didn’t want to wear leggings for this one so braved some bare legs. The Converse were a bit grim though after walking yesterday so swapped to some Nude Metallic Pointed Ballet Flats . Now they say that they’re ‘nude metallic’, but they’re rose gold really! Plus very good value for £14. I had to stash some insoles in them to help them fit a bit better but they were gorgeous on sadly, as with all shoes these destroyed the backs of my heels so am now relying on Compeed to walk!

We had an amazing breakfast at Duck and Waffle which had amazing views across London. It was a lovely surprise and they also gave me this gorgeous Monica Vinader rose gold bracelet! They know how much I love rose gold so it’s a really thoughtful and welcome gift!

We then headed over to David’s Bridal in Westfield Stratford to try on some wedding and bridesmaids dresses. It was good to get some ideas about bridesmaids dresses but will definitely need all four there to see what really works. The good news though is that I think I’ve found my wedding dress!! I’m so excited I can’t stop looking at it online! Going back at the end of May for a second look and hopefully to order it!

After a very lovely day it was time to head back to Cardiff. I decided to get back into my Converse and and into some jeans and Coral Oversized T-Shirt. I live in my Converse and because my bag couldn’t accommodate my real trainers, they’ve just had to take the dirt this weekend. I’ll give them a good clean!

I’m so glad that spring is on the way, there’s some really pretty pieces around at the moment but I’m awful at buying stuff in advance! I won’t typically buy spring/summer clothes until I actually feel it being warmer. Maybe I need to change that as I’m always disappointed when things sell out.

What do you think of the yellow mac? Would you wear it? They have some great versions in different colours at the moment, and . I know that Primark has an excellent dupe too!

Thanks lovely! You should, such pretty jewellery! I’m not going to lie – best brunch I’ve had in ages! I highly recommend!
