It’s autumn, it’s cold, it’s wet and the last thing you want to do is head out for a night on the town where your hair will get ruined, your legs will turn Smurflike from the cold and you’ll wake up in the morning filled with regret, a hangover from hell and an empty purse. Doesn’t a pamper night sound so much better?
For all the hermits out there who despise leaving the house at this time of year, and for those who are trying to save money – do I have the perfect night in for you.
Treat yourself to a relaxing night in (Harry Potter’s on again folks!) and enjoy the ultimate pamper night for under £10.
A good pamper night ALWAYS starts with a bath bomb. You might publicly loathe everyone talking about them all the time, but you know that you secretly love one. Right now you can pick up some excellent Mango Sunset Bath Bombs at Superdrug for just £1.23. Close your eyes and pretend you’re in paradise.
Alternatively, you can make your own bath bomb with some things lying around your kitchen. Take a look at The Soap Kitchen’s great bath bomb recipe.
Hair care bunch
Is your hair still feeling frazzled from the summer heat? It’s time to give it some TLC. There are some great ideas you can use for an at-home hair mask, including using coconut oil, or you can try the Garnier Ultimate Blends Argan Oil Shiny Hair Mask Treatment, which is an amazing £1 at Boots.
Simply apply to washed hair and leave in (wrapped in either a towel, or cling film). It says 1-5 minutes, but you can leave in longer to give your hair a big treat.
Recreate Halloween at home
Jamie Lee Curtis’ latest Halloween film is due out this month, in which the story is completely re-written and she never brought Josh Hartnett into the world as a complete dish (lost on you if you never watched Halloween H20 in your teens). Anyway, I digress. The point of this story is that you can use a tissue mask and terrify your housemates, lover, husband, etc. who will wonder why on earth you’d apply such a thing to your face.
Wacky as they might be, I love a tissue mask. You can use them more than once usually so they’re not bad value! I recommend the Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask in Lavender for your pamper night, which is currently £2.99 in Boots. Put it on while Harry Potter’s on and it might feel like a cloak of invisibility! Your skin will be wonderfully hydrated and the lavender scent will help you have a better night’s sleep.
Banish the bags
You’ve had a long week, but your face needn’t give that away! An eye mask could be just what you need to reverse the years, or at the very least, help you feel more refreshed. If you get yourself down to Boots, you can pick up a Soap and Glory Puffy Eye Attack Under Eye Mask at a third off for £2.33.
Ideal for banishing the bags and making your eyes feel bright and sparkling, you’ll be a new woman after using this!
Soft, soft, soft skin
When do you ever really take the time to properly moisturise? The perfect end to your perfect pamper evening should include top to toe body hydration. Take the time to really work some moisturiser into your skin so that you can get into bed all silky and smooth. Want to know my top pick for a body and face cream that leaves skin feeling amazing? It’s the classic NIVEA Creme All Purpose Body Cream for face, hands and body, which is just £1.49 for the 50ml tub.
Believe it or not, that teeny tub can last you ages. I would go so far as to boldly claim it’s as good as Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream…
So just to recap…
